We are a small law firm in Tigard, Oregon, a suburb just ten miles southwest of Portland. Our mission is to provide clients with the best legal advice possible in a comfortable, relaxed environment. We value the opportunity to help you and your family.
The practice dates back to the 1960s and was originally under the direction of long-time Oregon lawyer Charles McClure. Attorney Jerold W. Hilary joined the firm in 1995. Hilary took over the practice in 2001.
Our office is located in the old town section of Tigard at 9250 SW Tigard Street. The office is open 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. We are also happy to meet with you by appointment. The office is wheelchair accessible. We offer both flat and hourly fees depending on the project. Credit cards are accepted.
Jerold W. Hilary, Attorney at Law
Jerold W. Hilary is the founder of the firm and a native Oregonian. He has been practicing law since 1985. He received his Juris Doctorate from the Northwestern School of Law at Lewis and Clark College after graduating with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Oregon.
Mr. Hilary is a member of the Oregon State Bar, the U.S. District Court of Oregon, the Washington County Bar Association, the Multnomah Bar Association, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), and the Washington County Probate Bench/Bar Committee.
Mr. Hilary is active in the Tigard business community and is a past president of the Tigard Chamber of Commerce. He volunteers with Legal Aid Services for Senior Citizens and is a volunteer judge with the Tigard Police Department Peer Court. In 2002, he received the Community Partnership’s Pro Bono Award for his volunteer work.
Valerie I. Kirkendall, Attorney at Law
Jerold Hilary shares his offices with fellow attorney Valerie Kirkendall. Ms. Kirkendall is also a native Oregonian. She graduated from the Northwestern School of Law at Lewis and Clark College after completing a Bachelor of Science in Social Work at Portland State University. In addition, Ms. Kirkendall has a Certificate of Mastery in Taxation.
Ms. Kirkendall is a member of the American Bar Association and the Oregon State Bar where she is Secretary of the Standing Committee on Adoption.
In addition to her expertise in the areas of estate and health care planning, Ms. Kirkendall also specializes in tax and adoption. Charlene Stansbury – Legal Assistant and Office Manager
Charlene Stansbury has been with the office since 1995. She is responsible for the overall management of the office and handles the reception duties.
Susan Foulkes – Legal Assistant
Susan Foulkes has been with the office since 2005. She is responsible for managing the court calendar for probates and protective proceedings as well as managing the office calendar for will and trust creation and administration.
